Man Dead After Flight From Police Ends in Tragedy Thursday in Portsmouth

A man is dead after his attempt to flee from police ended with a fatal crash Thursday afternoon in Portsmouth.

Authorities say it started after officers spotted the man’s Nissan Sentra with both an expired inspection sticker and front-end damage as he was driving along Route 101 in Hampton.

The man reportedly tried to flee from police after officers ordered him to pull over.

The chase ended when the man veered off Ocean Road in Portsmouth and crashed.

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

No one else was hurt.
