Man Declared Dead at the Scene Following Drowning at Lake Winnipesaukee

State officials are investigating last week’s drowning at Lake Winnipesaukee.

Officials with the Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department say they got the call around 6 p.m. Thursday about a male victim whose body was found face down in the water off Wolfeboro’s Carry Beach.

Efforts to resuscitate the man reportedly were unsuccessful, and he was declared dead at the scene.

Foul play reportedly is not suspected.

However, an investigation into the man’s death is ongoing.
