Man Drowned In Lake Winnipesaukee

The circumstances surrounding the death of a 76-year-old Virginia man in Lake Winnipesaukee is under investigation.

Forest Wells was reported missing while swimming near Long Island in Moultonborough Monday around 8:20 p.m.

The body of a man thought to be Wells was recovered around 7:30 yesterday morning.

NH State Police said his death is not considered suspicious and is believed to be an accidental drowning.
