New Citizens Take Oath in Portsmouth
31 people from 19 countries are now U.S. citizens after a naturalization ceremony in Portsmouth.
The event was Tuesday at the National Visa Center.
Officials watched as hands were raised and listened as the new citizens took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.
The list of native countries included Jamaica, Italy, South Korea and Mexico.
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen called the new citizens courageous.
