New Hampshire Ranked as Best State in New England

New Hampshire wins top ranking as the best state in New England — and second best in the entire country — in this year’s Best States survey by U.S. News and World Report.

New Hampshire ranked first in the categories of crime and corrections and fourth for its natural environment.

The report singled out Mount Washington and Lake Winnipesaukee among the natural highlights in the state.

The top-ranked state nationwide is Utah.
