Next Year’s ‘Winni Derby’ is Canceled
The 2024 ‘Winni Derby’ has been canceled due to a decline in the number of available landlocked salmon in Lake Winnipesaukee.
New Hampshire Fish and Game says efforts to increase the salmon population are underway.
A spokesperson for the Boy Scouts of America, Daniel Webster Council, which sponsors the derby, says the organization agrees the cancellation is necessary in order to increase the salmon population in the lake.
