NH Governor  Kelly Ayotte has laid out her plans for the next two years during her inaugural address. Ayotte was sworn in yesterday to become New Hampshire’s 83rd governor, replacing now-former Governor Chris Sununu who chose not to seek re-election. In her speech, Ayotte focused on several key issues including homelessness, crime and government spending. The Republican Ayotte is asking lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to work with her to make everyone’s lives better.

Laconia police are trying.to track down who is responsible for leaving offensive graffiti in their community. They say graphic images and racial slurs were found spray painted at several downtown businesses. It is believed most of the vandalism happened Wednesday night and some of it was captured on surveillance cameras. Some of the graffiti could be considered a hate crime and while authorities do have some leads, no one is in custody.

Red Cross volunteers from the Granite State are preparing themselves for a trip to the West Coast. They’ll be heading to California to try and help that state deal with the impact of wildfires that have led to multiple deaths and thousands of homes being destroyed. One volunteer has already been on the ground in the Golden State during a previous wildfire. She says devastation from such a disaster is nothing anyone will forget.
