A memorial service is being held today for a police officer killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95. Family and friends of Sergeant Jeremy Cole will gather from two p-m until eight p-m at Campbell Funeral Home in Beverly, Massachusetts. Cole, who lived in Exeter, was traveling home Thanksgiving morning when 40-year-old Keoma Duarte struck his vehicle head-on. Duarte was later arrested on several charges including manslaughter. Cole leaves behind a wife and children.
All lanes of the Everett Turnpike northbound in Merrimack are open today following an accident that left a person dead and two others hurt. According to authorities, three vehicles were involved in yesterday’s collision near Exit 12 on the highway. The person who was killed is being identified as 63-year-old Wanda Navarro, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles. The cause of the tragedy is under investigation.
