NH Officials Meet Deadline to Secure Federal Aid for Food-Insecure Granite Staters
Getting their request in just before Friday’s deadline, state officials are applying for additional federal aid to help food-insecure children in New Hampshire.
According to state sources, New Hampshire officials confirmed late Friday afternoon that the Granite State would join 40 other states in requesting federal pandemic EBT assistance.
The federal aid program reportedly was set up to help families bring the summer nutrition gap while schools are out of session.
Authorities say the assistance is needed amid an ongoing rise in food-insecurity among U.S. residents.
