NH Prepares for Suspension of SNAP Benefits

Food pantries across New Hampshire are bracing for a surge in demand as the federal food assistance program known as SNAP is suspended.

Those benefits ended today for more than 75-thousand New Hampshire residents due to the continuing government shutdown.

Pending Executive Council approval, the state plans to use two-million-dollars in Medicaid tax revenue for mobile food banks in partnership with the New Hampshire Food Bank.
