NH State Trooper Killed In Crash on Interstate 95
A State Police Trooper has died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95.
Police Staff Sgt. Jesse Sherrill was working a construction detail installing rumble strips on the northbound side of highway, near Exit 3 at the time of the crash.
Staff Sgt. Sherrill was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The State Trooper has been in law enforcement since 2001, beginning his career in Hooksett.
The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
All lanes of the interstate are now open, after being shutdown for nearly 11 hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
