NH to Receive $20M to Replace General Sullivan Bridge for Bikers, Walkers
The $20 million dollar federal grant requested to replace the old General Sullivan Bridge for use by pedestrians and bicyclists has been awarded.
The funding was announced Monday by Senator Jeanne Shaheen. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation sought the money to replace the superstructure of the bridge, which closed in 2018 after decades of use by vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists crossing over Little Bay between Dover and Newington.
