One Slightly Injured Following Friday’s Apartment-Complex Fire in Derry

One person is hospitalized following Friday’s late afternoon fire at a Derry seniors’ apartment complex.

Local fire officials say crews were called to the 80-unit building at Nutfield Heights on Hood Road around 5 p.m.

Firefighters reportedly were able to contain the blaze to a single unit.

The victim was treated for treated for smoke inhalation and released.

Cause of the blaze is under investigation.
