“One Text Can Change Everything”, April Is Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Distracted driving has become a deadly epidemic on our roads.
The Commander of The New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety saying on Good Morning New Hampshire we see distracted driving everyday, but it’s tough to enforce it.
“In 2020, we saw 3,800 non-fatal crashes, 15% of them the primary cause was distracted driving. There is a lot of things we try to do enforce it, but it’s difficult”, Captain Chris Vetter said.
The wife of a retired fire chief shared her story of how a distracted driver changed her life forever.
“People are on their cell phones driving everyday. Do they understand the decision they are making. They are driving and they hit someone. That happened to my husband John, he was hit at the end of the driveway. Was it worth taking his life”, Marilyn Bachman told Jack Heath.
