Pedestrian Struck by Car in Portsmouth Dies

A pedestrian struck by a car early Tuesday morning near the entrance to Prescott Park has died, according to city police, who are seeking public assistance with the investigation.

The Portsmouth Police Department announced that the unidentified 53-year-old man hit by the car was pronounced deceased after being transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

The identity of the man killed in the accident was not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.
