Police Seek Suspect Following Last Week’s Vandalism At Portsmouth Synagogue
Local police are seeking a male suspect linked to last week’s act of vandalism at a Portsmouth synagogue.
Department sources say the man damaged two lamps – each displaying the Star of David – around 8:30 p.m. last Monday.
Sources at Temple Israel say the synagogue was targeted by a vandal or vandals last year, when someone spray-painted swastikas on the building’s exterior walls last year. There is good news, however: Synagogue officials say two community members have reached out to them, offering to fix both lamps for free.
