Proposed Banner Ban in Manchester City Hall
A proposal to ban banners and signs from the Aldermanic chamber at Manchester City Hall has been sent to a committee.
The motion was passed by the Board of Mayor and Alderman on a 9-5 vote Tuesday night.
Supporters of the rule change said banners, flags and signs could be a security issue or obstruct the view.
Activists have recently been attending meetings carrying Palestinian flags and banners asking the alderman to vote in favor of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
