Scam Call Warning in Merrimack County

Dozens of scam calls in Merrimack County have been reported and the public is being warned.

Investigators allege scammers used artificial intelligence to manipulate their voices and caller ID claiming to be a relative or from the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office.

Some scammers tell the person receiving the call there’s a warrant for their arrest and they must pay a fine.

Sometimes scammers pretend to be a family member in need of cash and that a deposit should be made at a bitcoin ATM in Manchester.
