Slight Increase in NH Unemployment Rate

New Hampshire’s unemployment rate is inching upward.

It was 2.6% in August, a tenth-of-a-percent increase from July.

The state Department of Employment Security said the number of people employed last month was close to 771,000.

The national jobless rate in August was 4.2%.
