State of Emergency at Hampton Beach
A state of emergency was declared due to high seas and extreme flooding at Hampton Beach as a result of a powerful overnight storm.
Police closed Ocean Boulevard Wednesday morning saying it wasn’t safe and people are discouraged from going to the boardwalk to watch the surf.
Several neighborhoods near the Hampton Beach strip were flooded and residents were urged to evacuate.
Channel 9 reported the water was a couple of feet deep near in the area of the Breakers By the Sea Hotel.
