Strides Against Breast Cancer
Hundreds from across New Hampshire and beyond gathered at the Lincoln Street School in Exeter yesterday to make strides against breast cancer.
Organizers said about 600 people walked 3 miles to spread awareness about breast cancer and raise money for research, patient support, education and prevention.
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States. The American Cancer Society also reports breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in women.
Organizers with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer said they raised over $129,000 from Sunday’s walk, surpassing their $125,000 fundraising goal.
