There Is No Substitution For Blood; How You Can Make A Donation To Save A Life

It’s one of the largest blood drives in the country.  The 39th Annual Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive will take place August 24th and 25th in Manchester. “When you need blood, you need blood. We support it because it’s one of the largest blood drives in this country”, Tim Wade, Regional President, of People’s United Bank told us on Good Morning New Hampshire.

This is a big two day event and an important drive. Gail Singer passed away in 1984 of leukemia. She was 29 when she passed but her son makes sure her legacy lives on year after year, “I lost my mom when I was 8-years old. I don’t have a lot of memories, but I can google her name and see her death was not in vain. If you save one life, you save the world”, Michael Singer said. “Support from the community is so big”.

For years, the Corporate Challenge has helped propel the success of the Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive. “So many people think when they here blood it’s traumatic injuries, but more commonly it could be for the person undergoing cancer treatment. There is no substitution for blood”, Dr. Greg Baxter, President, Eliot Heath Systems said. “This drive is impactful”.
