Thousands Still Without Power in NH and Maine
TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS STILL WITHOUT POWER TODAY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE. STATEWIDE, MORE THAN 23-THOUSAND OUTAGES ARE BEING REPORTED BY EVERSOURCE, UNITIL, NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTRIC COOP AND LIBERTY UTILITIES. EVERSOURCE SAYS JUST OVER 20-THOUSAND CUSTOMERS ARE STILL WITHOUT POWER WITH SOME OF THE HARDEST HIT AREAS INCLUDING BARNSTEAD, BARRINGTON, CHICHESTER, DUNBARTON, HENNIKER, HOPKINTON, NEW BOSTON, NORTHWOOD, AND STRAFFORD. EVERSOURCE SAID IT EXPECTS TO HAVE POWER RESTORED TO MOST CUSTOMERS BY 11:30 TONIGHT.
UNITIL HAS ABOUT 12-HUNDRED CUSTOMERS STILL WITHOUT POWER WITH HEAVY HIT AREAS IN CONCORD AND BOW. UNITIL SAID IT EXPECTS POWER TO BE RESTORED TO ALL CUSTOMERS BY TUESDAY. NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE HAS 105 CUSTOMERS OUT WITH BARNSTEAD AND ALTON HIT THE HARDEST. LIBERTY UTILITIES HAS RESTORED POWER TO ALL ITS CUSTOMERS. IN MAINE, TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS STILL WITHOUT POWER. BECAUSE OF THE COASTAL OUTAGES. CENTRAL MAINE POWER COMPANY SAYS SOME CUSTOMERS WHO LOST SERVICE OVER THE WEEKEND MIGHT NOT SEE ELECTRICTY FOR A COUPLE OF MORE DAYS. THE UTILITY COMPANY SAYS SEVERE DAMAGE HAS BEEN UNCOVERED IN YORK AND CUMBERLAND COUNTIES AFFECTING RESTORATION EFFORTS. |
