Trio Rescued from Island in Merrimack River

Three men were rescued from an island on the Merrimack River below the Amoskeag Dam in Manchester Wednesday night.

They were able to walk out to the island but when the spillways on the dam were opened the river rose quickly making it too dangerous to get back on their own.

The fire department launched two boats and got the men safely back to shore.
