Video Shows Alleged Flare Gun Assault at Local Speedway

A Hampton man is pleading not guilty to shooting his coworker in the face with a flare gun.

Police records show 37-year-old Elton Stanley and a 61-year-old coworker had an altercation at a Speedway gas station back on September 28th.

Security footage from inside the store shows the two arguing and then Stanley pulling the flare gun from his waistband, pointing it at the victim and then shows a large flash of light.

The victim is still being treated at a local hospital while Stanley is charged with second-degree assault and reckless conduct.
