Water Main Break in Laconia
The Laconia Daily Sun reports that water service was restored downtown Monday morning after a water main break on Sunday, which caused minimal disruption to business in the city’s center.
The water main break occurred on Main Street near BootLegger’s Footwear Center just before 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Water remained off for a portion of downtown until the break was fixed at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
The cause of the 360-degree crack in the pipe is believed to be wear and tear over time, and not due to frost or other weather conditions, according to Superintendent Benjamin Crawford of the Laconia Water Department.
