Write-In Candidate Emerges In Mayoral Race

A write-in candidate for mayor has emerged in Manchester less than a week before election day.

Rich Girard, a former Alderman and School Committee member said on his blog that he’s frustrated with Mayor Jay Ruais over school budget spending, his approach to homelessness and other issues.

While he doesn’t think he can win, Girard said he hopes his candidacy while encourage voters to support conservatives who are running for Alderman and School Committee
