York Hospital, MaineHealth Could Merge

York Hospital and MaineHealth are talking about a plan that could result in a merger.

York Hospital is asking to join MaineHealth due to concerns that financial woes could lead to its health care services having to be cut in the future.

Discussions between both sides have been going on for months, but any merger would have to be approved by the attorney general’s office.

If it gets the green light, the process could be completed in about a year.
