Investigation Underway into Meredith Fire

One person has tragically lost their life following a fire in Belknap County.

The blaze happened Monday at a home on Pease Road which is located in Meredith.

The victim was spotted inside of a second-floor bedroom and passed away at the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Two other people were inside the residence at the time but made it out safely.

Just what sparked the fire is still under investigation.
